Asclepias Incarnata, commonly known as Swamp Milkweed, is a graceful flowering plant with clusters of pink to mauve blooms and slender green leaves. It’s especially loved for attracting butterflies and other pollinators, making it an ideal plant for wildlife-friendly gardens. Its elegant flowers and upright form add color and movement to any outdoor space.
Growing Style - This is plant grows well in poly bags, large containers, or directly in moist garden beds. It’s perfect for butterfly gardens, borders, and natural landscaping areas. Best planted in groups for a more dramatic and full effect.
Watering - For this plant, it prefers consistently moist soil. Water regularly, especially during dry periods. It’s well-suited to areas with good moisture retention but still requires proper drainage.
Fertilizing - Fertilize every 4 weeks with a mild organic fertilizer or compost. You can also apply well-rotted cow dung during the growing season. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this may reduce flowering.
Light & Temperature - Thrives in full sun but can tolerate light partial shade. Ensure it receives at least 5–6 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal flowering. Performs well in Sri Lanka’s warm and humid climate, especially in areas with consistent watering.
