Ipomoea Batatas, commonly known as Sweet Potato Vine, is a fast-growing ornamental plant with bold, heart-shaped leaves in vibrant shades of green or deep purple, depending on the variety.
Its trailing growth makes it perfect for hanging baskets, ground cover, or adding a lush, cascading effect to garden edges and containers. This plant loves full sun but can tolerate partial shade, and it thrives in well-draining soil with regular watering.
In Sri Lanka’s climate, it grows quickly and responds well to light pruning. Feed with a balanced fertilizer every 4–6 weeks to encourage healthy, dense foliage.
